Your Cover: All rates include unlimited mileage, minimum state liability insurance, collision damage waiver (CDW), loss damage waiver (LDW), supplementary liability insurance up to $1.000.000.00 (SLI), Uninsured Motorist Protection (UMP), local state taxes, airport imposed fees, handling charges and environmental charges (unless stated at the time of booking or requested by you). Collision damage waiver and loss damage waiver covers you for damage in the event of an accident unless caused by negligence on your part; are under the influence of drink or drugs: or using the vehicle in a prohibited way e.g, sub hire the vehicle. In addition if you commit a driving offence or are other wise deemed to be at fault by the local office which supplied the car, a replacement car may not be supplied.
Hire Period: There is a maximum hire period of 56 days per rental agreement. Cars must be returned to an office before this period expires (presuming you have hired for this amount of time). Hire periods are calculated on a 24hr basis. After collection extensions of the hire period or missed return deadlines will be charged locally.
Not Included: Fuel (except for the gold rate where the first tank is included in the cost of the rental), personal accident insurance, special request items where applicable, young drivers surcharge, additional drivers charge. All these costs are payable locally. Items paid locally may be subject to taxes and airport fees.
Deposits: Most car rental companies require a deposit to cover the car or other local charges incured during the hire. A valid major credit card must be used in the name of the lead driver in most locations. All refueling charges are the hirer's responsibility.
One Way Rentals: One way rentals are normally available but must be confirmed in advance. These are usually subject to an additional, locally charged, drop off fee. If you would like specific price information on the charge between any two locations please request at the time of booking.
Government Taxes: It is common in the USA and Canada for airport expansion and improvement work to be funded by temporary local tourist taxation. From time to time the State authorities may levy a tax on car rentals to cover such work and these taxes can be imposed without prior warning. In these cases the car rental companies have to collect these taxes on behalf of the state authorities. A typical charge would be $3 - $4 per day and, if applicable, the local rental desk should be able to explain these fully to you. You should note that these taxes are mandatory, cannot be pre-paid prior to your arrival and do not form part of the car rental price quoted by us.
Special Requests: Child seats (not available on selected vehicles), cell phones and additional items are available on request in most locations, although no item can be guaranteed at any time. In Florida infant seats are required by law for children under 3 years old and must be requested in advance. By law children 3-5 years old must be restrained by a seat belt or infant seat. There is usually a charge payable locally.
Age Limitations: The minimum drivers' age is 21 years of age. If the driver is between 21 and 24 there will be an under age drivers supplement to pay locally. Drivers under 25 may be restricted to drive certain types of vehicle. There is no upper age limitation.
Driving Areas: Driving into Mexico is not allowed Crossing the border between USA and Canada is allowed with some suppliers but not others. If you wish to cross an International Border then you MUST check with us first and we will advise. Cars must be returned to the originating country at the end of the rental period. Do NOT drive on unmade roads / dirt tracks as this will invalidate your CDW coverage and you will be responsible for any damage that may be caused to the car.
Cancellation Policy: Amendments and cancellations are free of charge. However cancellations within 48hrs of the rental commencement date will incur a 100% cancellation charge. Please note that there is no refund available for part used vouchers.
Provision of Cars: Please note that our suppliers reserve the right to refuse to hire a customer a vehicle, if they feel that in their opinion, the person is unfit to drive or does not meet the eligibility requirements. In such a case the contract with us will terminate and we will have no further liability to you.
Quotations: Prices quoted may be subject to change due to circumstances beyond our control. For example if the car hire suppliers raise their prices we will be obliged to do so to.
Flight Information: At the time of booking a flight number and arrival time is required, this will enable the rental location to make sure a vehicle is available. Should you be unable to supply a flight number at the time of booking, we must receive this information at least 7 days prior to departure. If this information has not been given in time, we cannot accept responsibility for any failed rental.
Driving License: All drivers must produce a full, valid drivers license from their country of origin, that has been valid for a minimum of 1 year. If the licence is written in a foreign language an English translation may be required. International drivers licences are not required in the USA or Canada. It is the responsibility of the driver to maintain and be in possession of your drivers licence. Photocopies are not acceptable.
Vehicle Type & Capacity: Economy cars are only insured to carry a maximum of four people. All other groups are insured for a maximum of five (except minivans). The car capacities shown are a guide line only. At the time of the booking please advise of how many people are travelling in your party and your luggage requirements so a suitable car may be suggested. The vehicle type quoted in the group type is shown as an example only and an alternative vehicle of similar classification may be supplied. An exact make or model can never be guaranteed.
Mechanical difficulties: In case of breakdown or mechanical difficulties, you must contact the car hire company immediately, using the telephone number on the rental agreement. Authority for repairs or replacement cars must be given by the local car hire company. If you are involved in an accident, the local police and the car rental company MUST be contacted. Keep copies of relevant documentation you are asked to complete. This may be needed should you wish to make an insurance claim.
